Firefighters Wanted at Räddningstjänsten Väst

Do you want to contribute to our work in creating a safer society for everyone? We are now looking for firefighters for three different positions – permanent full-time, temporary, and summer positions for 2026.

About the Workplace

Räddningstjänsten Väst is a municipal association whose task is to provide protection against accidents within the municipalities of Varberg and Falkenberg. Our mission is to be responsible for municipal fire services and preventive protection against accidents according to the Act on Protection Against Accidents (LSO).

We are a fire service that aims to be at the forefront! Professionalism and innovation are our guiding principles. We also strive to be a fire service for all and see that diversity and differences enrich us.

Our five rescue teams are staffed around the clock and work preventively and supportively to create conditions to avoid serious incidents as much as possible. But when they do occur, you and your team must be able to safely break the chain of events as quickly as possible and assist those affected.

Our goal is to reduce the number of accidents. We achieve this through education, information, and supervision. If an accident does occur, the goal is to reduce response times through more smaller units spread across the association's operational area.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

You will contribute to our work in providing protection against accidents in society. You will work on preparation for interventions through training, exercises, and other professional development, as well as with preventive tasks and safety-enhancing measures for the community and citizens. This includes information, education, and outreach activities, both before and after an incident occurs. In addition, you will have an operational duty in one of our rescue teams.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is a trained firefighter through the Protection Against Accidents education. If you have also taken any of the Civil Defense Agency's (formerly MSB) management courses or any of their training for supervision and other accident prevention activities or equivalent training, it is an advantage. You must meet the medical requirements for smoke and chemical diving. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability. Care, knowledge, innovation, and flexibility are some of our guiding principles.

A driver's license is required, minimum category C.

Full-time permanent position, shift work according to agreement.
Temporary position until 260824.
Summer position for 2026.
